I’m Dr. Monika Poxon (they/them), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Psy 18758). For more than two decades, I’ve supported individuals, families, and communities through evidence-based, culturally responsive therapy. My work is guided by compassion, humor, and authenticity—I believe healing is most effective when therapy is both professional and human.
I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and working with LGBTQI+ and neurodiverse clients. I bring an integrative approach to therapy, combining proven techniques with deep respect for your unique lived experience.

Explore what I offer
Your first session is about connection. We’ll explore your goals, your history, and what’s bringing you to therapy now. From there, we’ll develop a collaborative plan that fits your needs. You can expect therapy that is structured when it needs to be, flexible when life requires it, and always respectful of who you are.
My Approach
Evidence-Based: DBT, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-focused, and mindfulness-based therapies
Affirming & Inclusive: Respect for all gender identities, sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds, and neurotypes
Engaged & Relatable: I use humor, irreverence, and direct feedback—therapy doesn’t have to be stiff or impersonal
Telehealth Only: 100% online, secure, and HIPAA-compliant sessions throughout California
Healing and growth often happen in community. I facilitate specialized therapy groups online, creating safe, supportive, and interactive spaces for connection and learning.
Therapist Process Groups: For clinicians seeking their own space for reflection, peer connection, and support around the unique challenges of providing therapy.
Neurodivergent Adult Groups: Supportive groups that celebrate neurodiversity while offering strategies for navigating relationships, work, and daily life.
LGBTQI+ Support Groups: Affirming spaces to explore identity, community, resilience, and the impact of intersectional experiences.
Each group emphasizes validation, skill-building, and authentic connection—because healing doesn’t have to be done alone.
In addition to therapy, I provide clinical supervision for therapists in training and licensed clinicians seeking consultation.
Individual Supervision: One-on-one support to deepen clinical skills, navigate ethical dilemmas, and refine therapeutic approaches.
Group Supervision: Collaborative spaces where clinicians learn from one another, share challenges, and receive structured feedback.
Didactic Training: Small group instruction on a variety of clinical issues with a focus on applying psychological theory in client sessions.
I draw from my extensive experience as a training manager and supervisor, with a focus on cultural humility, trauma-informed practice, and evidence-based treatment models. My style is supportive, direct, and collaborative—helping clinicians grow with both confidence and accountability.
